CompuPro Global (CPG) was founded in 1999 to compete in the office supply marketplace.  While the big-box office suppliers have name recognition and competitive pricing, they often lack personal attention and consistent customer service.  The customer’s needs are often overlooked while the sales reps move on to close another sale.  Rita Bonarrigo, CEO of CPG once fought it out in this same environment while working for a mega-dealer prior to starting her own company.  After 15 years of selling in the Houston area, one of her largest customers challenged her to start her own business, because they valued the personal service that she brought to their company throughout the years.  The company?  Shell Oil’s Information Technology, and they are still her customer today. They considered her service and cost savings a true value add.  Rita’s view towards service is that when the customer calls in with a problem, they should feel like they matter and are not just another account.

In a past Greater Houston Partnership Article, Shell’s Pat Johnson explains what CPG is all about: “Simply put, Shell Information Technology International liked her service.  So, when Rita Bonarrigo moved to a new company, Shell moved its account along with her.  But then came the problem.  The new company could not handle the Shell account properly.  Shell Executives conferred, and proposed an intriguing solution: Rita should start her own business.”
